Meet Harper, the bat mitzvah girl with vision
Hi, I'm Harper. I'm almost 13 years old and I'm really excited to celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah with my community in New York City.
For my bat mitzvah, I decided I wanted to do something to help Israel and the people of Israel, long term. I want to help create a beautiful therapeutic garden for peace and reflection. With a year long war it will take a long time for the people of Israel to rebuild their lives.
I met with a survivor of the October 7th attacks in one of the affected Kibbutz communities and heard his plans to build a beautiful garden in the desert as a space where kibbutz residents can come together.
While I live in New York, I go to camp in Upstate New York and understand the power of nature. I think that people will feel comfort in nature around things that grow and flourish.
